$2,000 Reward For Information On Dead Grizzly Near Libby

Gregory Smith

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is offering up to $2,000 for information about a grizzly bear shooting death north of Libby.

Officials retrieved the carcass of a juvenile grizzly found dead on Forest Road 4859 in the Kootenai National Forest.

Dillon Tabish is a spokesperson for FWP.

"The carcass was retrieved on May 28, and investigators so far believe the grizzly bear was killed along that road sometime around the evening of May 20," Tabish said.

FWP and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are asking for anyone with information about the case or suspicious activity in the Barron/Bristow Creek area to call 800-TIP-MONT. A cash reward may be available for information that leads to a conviction.
