A section of the iconic road that traverses Glacier National Park will re-open Saturday after being closed in late August due to wildfire.

Going-to-the-Sun Road will open to vehicles from West Glacier to Avalanche by noon Saturday. Drivers should expect delays due to road construction. Some hiking trails will be closed at times for maintenance work.

Going-to-the-Sun Road is also open on the east side from the St. Mary entrance to Rising Sun. Late-season hikers and cyclists can venture as far as The Loop on the west side and Jackson Glacier Overlook on the east.

Access to Logan Pass from both the east and west sides has ended for the season for all modes of transport due to rock and tree fall.
