A 19-year-old Broadwater County detention officer was killed in a head-on collision between his pickup truck and a tractor trailer on Interstate 90 about 40 miles east of Missoula.

Two people were found dead after a house fire near the southern Montana town of Emigrant. A western Montana school district is asking that a federal lawsuit be thrown out, saying district officials did not know about many allegations that a student was being sexually harassed by a music teacher.
