  • The Montana House of Representatives gave final approval to a just over $10 billion state budget. House Bill 2 now goes to the Senate for consideration
     
  • Rep. Carl Glimm, R-Kila, wants voters to decide whether to ban transgender people from public school and government building restrooms, locker rooms, and changing facilities that don't match their "immutable biological sex." House Bill 609 was introduced today
     
  • The family foundation of a Republican candidate for Congress donated $1.1 million dollars to an affordable housing project in Billings that will bear his name. The foundation's executive director told the Billings Gazette the decision to donate came last December before Greg Gianforte announced his candidacy
     
  • A legislative panel is considering a bill that would raise Montana's tax on alcoholic beverages. If adopted the tax would raise nearly $3 million a year for the state's coffers
     
  • The Trump Administration's proposed budget would eliminate federal subsidies for the Essential Air Service Program. If successful, the cut could eliminate flights from Billings to eastern Montana communities
